PiBoIdMo

Picture Book Idea Month or PiBoIdMo is the brain child of Tara Lazar – I’m assuming that’s a pen name 🙂 Anyway it’s sort of an off shoot of NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month which like PiBoIdMo runs in November but that is covered by my good friend Purple Monster.

Me and Purple Monster are both special kinds of Gurgitation Monsters which means we gurgitate new stories. Sort of like Red Monster and Blue Monster but we don’t bother with setting writing exercises to try and lure unsuspecting humans into writing. Instead we just write stories to try and get them hooked on the whole concept of the story in the first place.

The Story Telling Monsters (that’s us lot) live at the edge of the World guarding the gates to Imagination and I personally specialise in Children’s Picture books – now I am including any book that has pictures in with the main text of the story – so be warned. I am also not age specific other than that they are all for under 16 yr olds but I cover from birth. I am technically an Illustratarium Monster.

There are other picture book writing events on through the year as well which I will be covering but for now lets get back to the concept of PiBoIdMo.

The idea is that I generate a story book idea a day thought November – that’s 30 ideas! These can then be worked on during the remainder of the year and turned into picture books!

I have to say that I am so excited about taking part in this that I have just thrown mint tea down the front of myself – good job I’m a wipe clean monster – oh well best get to a note and sketch book! 🙂
