Revolations Graphic Novel

Revolations

I am working once again on the graphic novel I started a few years ago as part of Script Frenzy – the idea was to write a 100 page graphic novel script in a month. I didn’t complete the challenge mainly because it turns out I do not work that way – I find it hard to ‘script’ something like this so ended up just story boarding the whole thing instead.

Now that is done, I could write a script from it for an illustrator and I would love to work with an illustrator but I don’t have the money and I have the skills myself – or at least the potential for the skills.

I’ve been pottering with this for about four years now, it is part of the world I’ve been building up via novel writing, short stories, flash fiction and so on. The whole comic thing started as another world building exercise. It is time to move it forward.

So I have dug out my books on fantasy art, manga and comic book art and am hurriedly making lots of lists. It is going to be a lot of work and includes me learning some digital art stuff I do not currently know – I want to draw the characters and backgrounds, distinct and then put them together.

I am just focusing on the first ‘comic’ at the moment – 10 pages long chapter or story within Revolations called Bamboozled. I have pages of notes and think that I am going to be doing a lot of experimenting.
